About the Free Mindfulness & Nutrition Taster Workshop

Join us for a relaxing and revitalising mindfulness and nutrition taster workshop!

Get some nutritional inspiration and try out simple mindfulness techniques in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

The workshop will include guided mindfulness exercises, a short cooking demo and tastings!

All welcome, no prior meditation experience necessary.

Time and Location: Saturday 2nd Sep, 2:15-3:45;Anderson Room, Fermoy Community Youth Centre.

(Why not drop your kids at the kiddies’ film downstairs and come up to join us and give yourself a break!)

Cost: Tickets for this event are free. Voluntary donations will be collected on the day in aid of Liam’s Lifts, a wonderful local charity offering free transport to and from appointments for patients receiving cancer treatment in Cork City.

 

About Liam's Lifts

Liam’s Lifts is a community based transport service which aims to solve the transport difficulties that members of our community often face when they need to attend oncology appointments and treatments in Cork city. This service is provided on a volunteer basis by members of our community who recognise the need for this service and want to help solve this problem. Liam's Lifts is running in the Fermoy / Mitchelstown area and are hoping to extend their service through North Cork in the future.

About Jen Ardis | Blue Heron Mindfulness

Jen has practiced mindfulness for more than 14 years, and trained to deliver Mindfulness-Based Interventions with Bangor University. She follows the Good Practice Guidelines for Teaching Mindfulness-Based Courses. She has a Masters in Psychology and over a decade’s experience working in mental health, group facilitation, training and education. Jen offers courses, retreats, workshops, talks and one-to-one mindfulness and positive mental health and wellbeing training across a range of settings, including in the workplace. Jen is a qualified trainer, and also delivers the Life Skills programme, a Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy skills course, on behalf of Irish national mental health charity Aware. About Linn Thorstensson | Straightforward Nutrition

Linn is a registered Nutritional Therapist, mNTOI, CFSP, with a special focus on helping people heal their relationship with food and eating, through mindful eating and self-compassion. She has trained in mind-body-nutrition approaches extensively with some of the world leading experts in the field.

It is her mission to inspire people to realise how quick and simple it is to cook nutritious food, how empowering it is to change the negative thought patterns in our mind and how much better we can feel, both inside and out, just by making a few simple changes to how we eat and live by putting ourselves first for a change!

Linn works with people 1:1, locally and online via Skype. She also has an online programme.

Who is the Nourishing Sunday half-day retreat suitable for?

These retreats are suitable for anyone who is interested in increasing their self care through mindfulness and nutrition, and for anyone who simply wishes to spend an enjoyable half-day engaging with nourishing and illuminating practices, information and foods in a relaxed group atmosphere.

No prior experience of meditation is necessary.

Cost

The investment in your self-care for each retreat is €65 (or €100 for two people). This includes the half day, snacks, a light lunch, and guided meditations.
